Varozza (1955 - Belgium). The Record Sleeve Award, Diamond Awards, Antwerp, 1988. A jewelry sculpture created in the fine jewelry workshops of Arent & Van Leeuw. It represents the sleeve that protects the body from the sound emanating from a record or vinyl. The red and green enamelled coloured gold piece is set with four 0.60-carat brilliants, two 0.25-carat brilliants, a 3 mm-diameter blue sapphire and a baroque pearl. An 18-carat yellow gold clasp allows the sculpture to be worn as jewelry. Signed "By Varozza - Arent & Van Leeuw" and numbered "23/90 / VI". Dimensions : 53 x 38 mm. Weight: 27 g. Accompanied by a Diamond Awards catalog, an Arent & Van Leeuw catalog and an original 70 x 70 cm silkscreen print under glass. The jewel is presented in an elm burl frame with a signed plaque on the back.
