Henry de Triqueti (sculpteur Conflans-sur-Loing 1803-Paris 1874). Large ornamental vase dedicated to poetry. Decorated in bas-relief with a large frieze illustrating in part Petrarch's Triumph of Chastity: E La Piu Casta Era Ivi La Piu Bella and Dante's Divine Comedy: Onorate l'Altissimo Poeta . Two long scrolled handles, each featuring a winged woman. Patinated bronze, signed H. de Triqueti in the decoration. Foundry mark: Fonderie Fabrique de Bronze de L. Richard Eck et Durand. Height: 82 cm. France 1839-1843. Fine quality. Note: vase to be compared with the vase de l'âge d'or et d'airin (1837), kept at the Mobilier National under number 95 93 000.
