How can I bid?

Entering an auction house can be a rich and exciting experience. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned bidder, the Galerie Moderne team is at your service to make bidding as simple and transparent as possible, while guaranteeing your confidentiality. Here is a guide to help you bid with confidence:
 

You can bid : 

On site: Our sales are public. You can attend by going through the rue Caroly entrance.
With a purchase order: Leave us a purchase order to place a bid if you are unable to attend the sale.
By telephone: It is possible to request a telephone call to attend the sale through one of our staff who will bid on your behalf (for lots with a minimum estimate of €400/500).
Via the Drouot platform: Our sales are broadcast live on the Drouot website. You must register in advance in order to bid during the sale.
 

How a sale takes place :

At the start of each sale, the auctioneer reminds the buyer of the conditions, then each lot is announced by the crier. When an auction begins, the auctioneer announces a starting price based on the estimated value of the item, or an amount set by the seller. The public can then start bidding. The auction ends when the highest bid is no longer in competition. The lot is then sold for this amount.  
 

How do I know if I've won a lot? 

If you are the highest bidder at the end of an auction, you win the lot. You will receive confirmation by email as well as instructions for payment and collection of the item.
